Kuwait, Iran equalize in Asian Men's Youth handball Championship

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Kuwait and Iran have 24 goals each in their encouter at the beginning of the 6th Asian Men's Youth Championship, held in Amman on Saturday.

The Kuwaiti team came to this championship to win and not for the sake of participation, head of the team Mohammad Jumaa told KUNA. However, he added, the first game witnessed many mistakes.

Jumaa said the pre-championship camp that was held in Slovenia was a success but some players were committed to school exams.

Coach Mohammad Mubarak said he was not satisfied with the result, but he would address the psychological and moral shortcomings for the next match.

There are nine national teams competing in the championship, due until September 15. The first three positions will automatically qualify for next year's World Championship in Russia.

The first group consists of Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain and Iran. The second group includes Jordan, Iraq, Japan and South Korea.
