Chemical, petroleum lift up New Zealand's manufacturing sales


(MENAFN) New Zealand's government said the total volume of manufacturing sales was picked up by rising chemical and petroleum industry in the first quarter, Xinhua reported. The country's industry sector saw chemical, polymer, and rubber product manufacturing rise of 8.5 percent, while petroleum and coal product manufacturing up 5.8 percent. According to Statistics New Zealand, total manufacturing sales volume increased by 0.5 percent for the third consecutive quarter. "This quarter's rise occurred despite a relatively flat quarter for meat and dairy product manufacturing," business indicators manager said in a statement.
