France to discuss pace of deficit reduction

(MENAFN) French Finances Minister said that his country will respect deficit target and time schedule set by the EU, but would discuss the pace of achieving its financial commitments, Xinhua reported. The minister said that France, the Eurozone's second largest economy, would bridge the gap to EU limit of 3 percent slower than planned, but it will not engage in any further discussions for delay. "The rhythm has been modified and discussed to be well understood. Our pace is a little slower than expected but the deadline will be respected," the minister said.
