Clean sweep for Swiss Ambassador at Farnek training centre

(MENAFNEditorial) H.E. Mrs Andrea Reichlin, Swiss Ambassador to the UAE, was given a guided tour of Swiss-owned Farnek's new dedicated training facility at its 2,500 square metre office building in the Al Quoz area of Dubai. The state-of-the-art training centre, is purpose-built to train employees theoretically and practically, how to clean different areas and surfaces effectively and efficiently. The slightly surreal facility is in many ways mimics a stage set with an elevator, bathroom, kitchen, office space, a lobby, a staircase, glass partitions, a medical area and a bathroom. The walls and the floor are partially covered in a variety of materials such as carpet, rubber, linoleum, slate, marble, wood and ceramic tiles. Cleaners can benefit from one-on-one or group sessions. "Farnek has built its reputation on quality and best practice and our dedicated in-house training facility, will maintain our market edge and complement our other initiatives such as colour-coding, sustainable products and BICSc compliance," said Markus Oberlin, CEO, Farnek. Farnek's highly trained staff are also at the forefront of technology, having been accredited by British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) the largest independent, professional and educational body within the cleaning industry.in May 2013 "BICSc is another critical part of our strategy to maintain our market-leading position as a professional, quality-driven FM company, accredited to recognised international standards of cleaning," said Oberlin. Farnek was also an early adopter in colour-coded cleaning systems, which only use environmentally friendly chemicals and dedicated coloured cloths which are dedicated to certain areas, avoiding cross-contamination from floor to work services and bathrooms to kitchens. "The visual identity that these cleaning systems provide is perfect for multi-lingual workforces, especially when English is not their first language," added Oberlin. Farnek is one of the region's foremost facilities management companies and a leader in sustainability, with a skilled workforce of more than 1,500 people, maintaining over 1,000 properties alone on behalf of many international and regional companies. "As a Swiss government institution overseas, it is an essential part of our assignment to support Swiss companies, operating in the UAE. I remember visiting these impressive offices last year shortly after it had opened and it is laudable that Farnek has already created this practical in-house training facility," said Mrs Andrea Reichlin, Swiss Ambassador to the UAE. "Cleaning processes and systems have become incredibly technical, it really has developed into a science, where safety and sustainability are now as important as cleanliness and of course I am pleased that it is a Swiss company that is pushing the boundaries," added Mrs Reichlin.
