Al Nabooda Automobiles celebrates Al Jazira Club win at Volkswagen Junior Masters football tournament


(MENAFNEditorial) Al Nabooda Automobiles, the official distributor of Volkswagen in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, has announced Al Jazira Club as the winners of the Volkswagen Junior Masters Dubai and Northern Emirates U-13 Football Tournament, which took place on April 12th at the Jebel Ali Center of Excellence. The team will now represent Dubai and the Northern Emirates in the upcoming Volkswagen Junior Masters Middle East Tournament set to take place in Dubai on 19 April. Thierry Seys, General Manager of Volkswagen at Al Nabooda Automobiles, said: "The Volkswagen Junior Masters is one of the largest events of its kind worldwide, we introduced the tournament on a local level in 2010 and since then, it has grown exponentially ever since. The Junior Masters focuses on youths and is part of our commitment to support our local community." The Al Jazira Club and runners up Desert Rangers will go on to play in the regional finals, held in Dubai on 19 April, where teams from across the region will play for the coveted Volkswagen Junior Masters Middle East Champions title. If they are successful, they will represent the Middle East and play against teams from all over the world in Rome, Italy (7-12 May). "The tournament develops participants skill and confidence, teaching them how to work as a team and encourages them to stay active. I'd like to congratulate The Al Jazira Club on their fantastic result, they played a tremendous game and we hope to see them represent the Middle East in May this year" Seys continued. Eight teams competed in this year's tournament including; Al Jazira Club, Dubai United, Desert Rangers, Dubai College, Dubai Colts, E Sports U13, Desert Eagles and M&S Sports. Established 11 years ago by Volkswagen AG, the Volkswagen Junior World Masters is the world's biggest and most popular youth tournament for U13-boys teams. It is an international competition that unites kids and coaches from around the world. Since its beginning, the annual event has grown to include 4,700 players, 333 teams, and 245 dealers in its home country alone. Today, the tournament takes place in 23 countries worldwide.
