(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) A man who admitted he tried to assassinate US President Barack Obama was sentenced Tuesday to 25 years in prison. The 23 year-old admitted to Federal Court that he plotted the shooting of Barack Obama, the CNN reported today.
In fact, not only did the man plot the murder, prosecutors proved that he shot a number of rounds towards the White House from his car before driving away. He crashed his car however and had to escape on foot. US Attorney Ronald Machen said that the man, called Ortega-Hernandez, was motivated by hatred for the President and the desire to start a revolution against the federal government. The attack left no damages or casualties
