ROP News Asian held in visa forgery case in Oman


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The Directorate of Investigations and Inquiries affiliated to the Police Command of Dhahirah governorate has arrested an Asian national on charges of forging visa application papers.


The arrest was made on the basis of a complaint filed by the Directorate General of Passport and Residence after it got two fake visa applications from one person.


Acting on the complaint, officials of the directorate at Dhahirah Police Command found that the accused had forged the documents and charged RO200 per visa. Officials also recovered several fake visas, passport copies, travel tickets, bank cards and a printer from the accused.

65 infiltrators in Oman arrested last week; 45 deported


The ROP, in cooperation with other military and security agencies arrested 65 infiltrators last week. It also deported 45 infiltrators in coordination with respective embassies.


The police has sought cooperation of every citizen and expatriate in its fight against the menace of infiltration. People can report the presence of illegal residents by calling on 9999 or informing the nearest police station.


The ROP has also warned people against employing, sheltering or facilitating entry of infiltrators into the sultanate.

Three arrested for drug trafficking in Oman


The Directorate General for Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances at the Police Command of North Sharqiyah has arrested three Arabs on the charges of possessing and trafficking drugs.


Officials at the Directorate received information that one of the accused was selling drugs to the second and third accused.


The police investigated and collected information about the case. The three accused were arrested and 112 drug pills were found in their possession.


The accused admitted to their crime and have been referred to the Public Prosecution. ROP has sought the help of citizens and expatriates in combating drug trafficking cases. People can report matter to the directorate on 1444 or 9999 or at the nearest police station.
