Qatari Player Wins Bronze in West Asian Billiards Championship


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Qatari player Bashar Hussein won Sunday the Bronze medal in the West Asian Championship for Billiard Games after defeating his Iranian opponent 9-8. The championship is held in Doha with 11 teams participating. There is still a lot to play for as tomorrow sees the first round of the 9-ball competition. Qatar's Ali Al Obaidly faces a tough encounter with Saudi Arabia's Muhannad Al Ghumaizi. Another Qatari player, Abdul-Latif Al Fawal meets Palestine's Ahmed Awwada. The Snooker competition will also start. This year's system is a one round-robin where the top two qualify to the final eight. The draw will see one of the final eight face the other with the winner qualifying to the next round.
