Railway traffic hits 70 million in Chinese Gold Week


(MENAFN) Railway traffic during the week-long National Day holiday in China reached an astonishing 70 million passengers, registering a new record high, Xinhuanet reported. The China Railway Corporation released statistics showing that passengers in the Golden Week's last day were at 8.5 million. Nanchang Railway Bureau arranged for three additional bullet trains to operate during the Gold Week to meet demands, while some trains were suspended in coastal areas because of Typhoon Fitow.
