(MENAFN Press) "Leave Change to Change their Lives" initiative generates over AED 370,000
HyperPanda - a subsidiary of Azizia Panda United, one of the largest retail corporations in the Middle East, and part of the Savola group , announced today the success of its the "Leave Change to Change their Lives" initiative which raised 370,000 AED in funds by collecting donations, in cooperation with UAE Down Syndrome Association, from the period in August 2011 until August 2012.
The initiative aimed at motivating the customers of HyperPanda to donate change coins for supporting the UAEDSA, which is providing better quality of life and support to those who are suffering Down syndrome. Down's syndrome is a chromosomal disorder, which is caused by an extra chromosome 21 or a part of it, and this is considered the most common case across the world where among each 733 newly-born children there is one suffering from Down syndrome.
In his generous step, Mr. Muwaffaq Mansour Jamal; CEO of Azizia Panda, handed over a cheque of AED 370,000 to Ms. Sonya Al Hashimi, President of UAEDSA which will help support their activities and services, which will raise the total number of donations since its inception to AED 960,000.
Mr. Muwaffaq pointed out Azizia Panda's awareness towards social responsibilities, and the belief of contributing to the best interest of the community.
"We are happy to work in collaboration with UAE Down Syndrome Association in which we will offer our continuous support to this humanitarian cause and that comes as part of our deep belief in contributing to the best of our community" he added. Mr. Jamal, also expressed his deep grateful to those who are shopping at HyperPanda that were the main factors behind the success of this initiative.
In her comments Ms.Sonya Al Hashimi of UAEDSA said:" We are thankful to Azizia Panda United for their consistent support, and we believe that this support will go along with our efforts. UAE Down Syndrome is an association of public benefit non-profit organization supporting individuals with Down syndrome and their families, to provide them a better quality of life and also offer them an opportunity to play their unique role in the society."
