Saudi Arabia's 2011 exports hit USD 47b 

(MENAFN) Official report showed that Saudi Arabia's nonoil exports increased 31 percent to USD47.07 billion in 2011 compared to USD35.88 billion achieved in 2010, Arab News reported.

According to data from the Statistics Department the total volume of exports rose 5 percent to 48.72 million tons last year from 46.25 million tons in the previous year.

China was on the top of the kingdom's importers list with USD5.97 billion worth of imported products, followed by the UAE with USD5.19 billion imports, and Singapore with USD3.2 billion imports, and India with USD2.29 billion imports.

Non-Islamic Asian countries received Saudi exports worth USD15.23 billion, representing 33 percent of the kingdom's total exports, followed by GCC countries with USD10.25 billion.

Saudi Arabia's exports were topped by petrochemicals, accounting for USD16.25 billion of the total, followed by plastics accounting for USD14.38 billion, and foodstuffs with USD3.36 billion worth of exports, while re-exports accounted for USD6.49 billion.
