Dubai, UAE, 7 MAY 2012 “ For the first time, the CommunicAsia2012 Summit will see two visionary speakers and over 180 distinguished international speakers at the region's largest gathering of ICT professionals and industry experts. Ms. Aliza Knox, Managing Director of Commerce for Google Asia Pacific and Ambassador David A. Gross, Partner at Wiley Rein LLP, will deliver Visionary Addresses on Wednesday, 20 June at Marina Bay Sands.

The two visionary speakers will navigate through the business opportunities and challenges in Asia as the global ICT industry undergoes rapid transformation and operators around the world strive to provide value-added services through continuous innovation. Ms. Aliza Knox will give an overview on how 'Asia defines the Internet' by following the trajectory of the smartphone across the region whilst Ambassador David A. Gross will draw from his past experiences as the U.S. Coordinator for International Communications and Information Policy at the U.S. Department of State and share his opinion on 'Profiting From the Turmoil'.

A CEO Perspectives segment on 20 June will discuss 'Emerging Business Models and Challenges for ICT Stakeholders in the Digital Economy'. The intensive panel discussion will see C-level thought leaders from across the globe debate the impact of next-generation networks on consumers and businesses; emerging business models; critical success factors; and the changing roles in the evolving IT ecosystem.

Unparalleled Line-Up of Conference Tracks and Speakers
Delegates at the CommunicAsia2012 Summit can look forward to 16 technology sessions, including over 180 conferences, workshops, and panel discussions that will foster dialogue among industry and government leaders, and provide executive insights and analysis on the exciting ICT developments across Asia Pacific and beyond.

A wide range of topics from cloud computing to mobile marketing will be presented by prominent speakers such as Mr. Simone Brunozzi, Technology Evangelist, Asia Pacific, Amazon Web Services; Mr. Dan Scoffer, Vice President, Marketing and Business Development, VeriFone; Mr. Stevan Hoyle, President, Asia Pacific and Sub-Saharan Africa, Vodafone Global Enterprise; Mr. Christian Geissendoerfer, CEO of Yoose; Mr. Wayne Purboo, President, CEO & Co-Founder, QuickPlay Media; Mr. Rodrigo Donazzolo, Head of IP Interoperability, BT Global Telecom Markets Asia Pacific, and many more.

With analysts predicting that mobile phones will overtake PCs as the most common Web access device worldwide by 2013, mobile technology will be a key focus at the CommunicAsia2012 Summit. Other tracks include next-generation broadband, satellite communications, cloud computing, over the top technologies (OTT), customer experience management and augmented reality strategies.

Mobile Technologies
Industry experts predict that the value of mobile payments globally for physical and digital goods will reach 600 billion in 3 to 5 years' time. VeriFone will share its experience in working with wallet providers like Google and ISIS, and the elements necessary for a successful mobile payment business model. CommunicAsia2012 Summit's tracks will uncover the massive potential in mobile advertising and how companies should navigate the app world to optimise ROI.
Against the backdrop of increasing healthcare costs and rise in chronic diseases, industry practitioners will share their experiences in using m-health technology to optimise resources and improve patient care. The track features Singapore's Mr. Eric Loh, CEO of EPI Mobile Health Solutions (S) Pte Ltd (formerly known as Ephone International (S) Pte Ltd); the company that made headlines at CommunicAsia in 2010 with an innovation that enables users to monitor heart rate via the mobile platform.

Further zoning in on mobile technologies to equip participants with knowledge necessary for the ultra-connected and dynamic future of ICT, the Summit will feature dedicated workshops on mobile marketing strategies and mobile security on 22 June 2012.
Next Generation Broadband
Wi-Fi offload has evolved into a mainstream strategy for mobile broadband operators, due to the limited licensed spectrum. The track 'Next Generation Mobile Broadband' will explore the new ecosystems that are evolving to address the unsolved issues of delivering trusted, non-proprietary, standards-based Wi-Fi-cellular interworking. Mr. Dave Williams, Chief Technology Officer of Stoke will discuss the ROI, growth models, as well as challenges and innovation that the new wireless model presents.

Cloud Computing
The initial frenzy around cloud computing is stabilising and telecom companies are now better positioned to compete in cloud services. For the track 'Telco Rising Cloud', Mr. Stevan Hoyle, President, Asia Pacific and Sub-Saharan Africa, Vodafone Global Enterprise, will deliver a keynote presentation on mobility in the cloud and how businesses can build and maintain the cloud ecosystem. Mr. Simone Brunozzi, Technology Evangelist, APAC, Amazon Web Services will be presenting the keynote and revealing the 'Business Opportunities in the Cloud' and its benefits to businesses.

Satellite Communications
The 'Satellite Communications' track will take a comprehensive look into the opportunities available in the satellite sector. Mr. Adrian Ballintine Founder & Chief Executive Officer of NewSat will deliver the keynote presentation and discuss Australasian satellite growth. He will be joined by industry heavyweights such as Mr. Erez Antebi, CEO of Gilat Satellite Networks; Mr. Richard Lord, CTO of Altobridge and Mr. Titus Yong, VP of SingTel Satellite who will shed light on maximising business efficiencies for various industries using satellite communications.

Over-The-Top Technology (OTT)
The track 'OTT Business Models' looks at winning strategies and successful business models for Over-The-Top (OTT) Technology with a refreshing approach toOTT as an opportunity rather than a threat for telcos to innovate and compete. Mr. Michael MacDonald, CTO of Southeast Asia, Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., will explore whether telco can operators play a role in the new webscape.
