Dubai's DGCX posts 141% surge in Mar contracts 

(MENAFN) Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange (DGCX) said that last month, volumes on the exchange soared 141 percent from 2011's same period to 550,735 contracts, reported Gulf News.

The DGCX added that since the start of 2012, contracts surged 126 percent from a year earlier to reach 1,545,899 at the end of March, whereas average daily volume reached 25,033 contracts, with a rise of 152 percent from 2011.

It also said that the increase in the month was driven by the exchange's initiatives to catalyze liquidity and volume growth in its deals.

It is worth noting that currency volumes on the DGCX jumped 197 percent in March from 2011.
