(MENAFN - Arab News) Per capita IT spend in Saudi Arabia is expected to reach 181 by 2016 according to recent studies as steady wage increases and aggressive government expenditure, including 93 billion in handouts to citizens announced in 2011, drive the spending power of IT consumers in the Kingdom.

The Saudi Arabia Information Technology Report Q1 2012 by BMI has further revealed that KSA will continue to be a lucrative IT market, with its forecast value of 3.8 billion in 2011 expected to increase to 5.7 billion by 2016.

GITEX Saudi Arabia 2012, the 11th International Information and Communications Technology Exhibition for Saudi Arabia, is being organized to complement the growing consumer expenditure as well as sustained investments in technology products and services in KSA, by providing a dedicated venue to showcase the latest technological breakthroughs and IT innovations from leading technology companies worldwide.

Organized under the auspices of the KSA's Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the latest edition of the Kingdom's leading ICT trade fair will take place from May 21 to 24 at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center

"Gathering the most prominent IT manufacturers and leading brands from all over the world, GITEX Saudi Arabia serves as the definitive IT showcase in KSA and across the region. GITEX Saudi Arabia delivers great benefits to business enterprises as well as the growing number of technology enthusiasts with a high purchasing power as it offers the most comprehensive selection of IT products and services," said a representative of Riyadh Exhibitions Company.

"As the per capita IT spend in KSA continues to rise, we believe that it is equally important to provide IT consumers with a much wider range of top-quality choices and that is exactly what we are trying to achieve at GITEX Saudi Arabia," said the official.

GITEX Saudi Arabia 2012 will be organized into two parts: a Businesses Section featuring Saudi Communications 2012 - The 14th International Telecommunications Exhibition which will serve as the business-to-business portion of GITEX, and a Consumer Section which will focus on tech-savvy consumers looking for tailored products and services that suite their individual lifestyle and needs.

The show is being organized by Riyadh Exhibitions Company.
