(MENAFN - Arab News) Bahra Cables, described as Saudi Arabia's most advanced plant supplying electrical cables to many of the major projects in the Gulf and MENA successfully participated in the recent Middle East Electricity Exhibition 2012 (MEE 2012) held at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center.

More than 1,000 exhibitors took part in MEE 2012 with the aim of getting a good share of the booming sector in the Gulf region.

"This annual exhibition is important as it offers electricity and accessories manufacturers a solid platform to interact with potential regional clients and international counterparts seeking partnerships," said Talal Idriss, CEO, Bahra Cables Co.

The company showcased various products including multipurpose cables, different sizes of low and medium voltage cables, fire-resistant cables as well as polyvinyl chloride (PVC), a plastic used for packaging and electrical cable insulation, which the company started producing recently at its plant in Bahra near Jeddah.

"Our electrical cables are used in many important projects in the Gulf and MENA regions, such as the new airport project in Senegal and the Makkah metro network," Idriss said. "The exhibition was a good opportunity to introduce our company as a main supplier of high quality electric cables to major construction companies operating in the region."

Held with the support of Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, deputy ruler of Dubai, MEE 2012 attracted many international key players in the areas of power, lighting, renewable and nuclear energy and water, and included various activities such as a Power Infrastructure Conference on prevailing electricity issues, and a Smart Power Conference on development and the future of electricity and power policies.

Informa for Exhibition organized the show in partnership with Middle East Water and Electricity Exhibition Abu Dhabi and Africa Electricity Exhibition in Johannesburg.
