(MENAFN - Arab News) King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center will be holding the first annual Nursing Research Awareness Day at Prince Salman Auditorium on March 6.
The occasion will provide an opportunity for nurses who are involved in research to share their journey through the process of developing a research proposal, implementing it and disseminating their findings in a systematic manner.
Moreover, nurses interested in research will be introduced to the research mentorship program as well as the structures and processes put in place to support staff nurses to develop their own research.
Ultimately, nurses will be encouraged by their peers to create new knowledge that leads to the development of the nursing profession, contributing to the improvement of patient care.
This is the first conference of its kind where mainly clinical staff nurses at the hospital will present papers about the research they have done.
The awareness day aims to show appreciation of the endeavors of nurses who work to enrich the nursing profession.
It also aspires to increase knowledge of different research methodologies as well as raising awareness among nurses about the impact of research on the quality of patient care. In addition, it is meant as an activity that would give impetus to further nursing research in the future.
The event will be kicked off with opening remarks by executive director of the research center Dr. Sultan Al-Sedairy and Executive Director of Nursing Affairs Judy Moseley. A series of lectures and presentations will follow, covering areas such as research appreciation, basic research principles and examples of quantitative and qualitative research.
