(MENAFN) Samsung Electronics Co Ltd said that since April 2011, sales of the company's Galaxy S II exceeded 20 million, reported Reuters.

The world's top smartphone maker added that sales of Galaxy S, which was introduced in 2010, surpassed 22 million gadgets.

On the other hand, the company increased its sales of smartphones in 2011 nearly fourfold from 2010 to 95 million.

It is worth noting that Apple Inc, Samsung's arch-rival, sold 93 million iPhones in 2011, almost doubling sales from 2010.
