(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) A manager raped a woman visitor after luring her to ride with him for a job interview and taking her to his flat, a court heard on Sunday.

The 24-year-old Indian faced charges of kidnap, rape and threat in the Court of First Instance. It is alleged that the defendant threatened the Filipina visitor, 24, of gang rape by his friends whom he claimed were down the building then if she did not let him rape her.

The visitor said that she had posted her resume in November last year on a website for job advertisements and four days later she was contacted by the defendant. He claimed that his company was in need of staff and asked to meet her the following day.

He picked her up in his car from the Jebel Ali Metro Station. Her sister, who was with her then did not go along as he told her to wait for them. The visitor told the prosecutor that the defendant took her to his flat and not to an office. Then her sister's friend called her and she informed her that it was a residential flat. The defendant took the phone from her and reassured the friend that everything was fine and no need to worry.

He asked for her resume and she said she wanted to be dropped back at the metro station but he instead dragged her to a bed. She begged him to leave her alone and she cried. She grabbed her mobile phone to call her sister but found it had been switched off by the accused. He snatched it from her hands and threw it away.

She tried to push him away but could not. He then threatened her that his friends were down the building and he would call them to gang rape her if she screamed for help. He then took off his clothes and hers and raped her. He dropped her back.

The visitor's sister, a receptionist, 31, said during the investigation that she dropped her sister at the metro station about midday. She tried to call her many times later and her friend did the same but her phone was switched off.

When she met her shortly later she found her broken down and tearful. They filed a complaint at Jebel Ali police station.

The defendant claimed to the police that he had sex with the woman and it was consensual. He denied raping the woman. He claimed that he called the woman after finding her details on the net. She sought to work as a maid. They went to his place and agreed to have sex for Dh4,000 and she was upset when he handed her Dh500 only. So she then complained against him.

A policeman described the woman as crying when giving her testimony.
