(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, received Yemeni Prime Minister Mohammed Saleh Basendwa and his accompanying delegation at his Zabeel Palace on Sunday evening.
They discussed bilateral relations and reviewed the latest developments in Yemen, following the success of the GCC-brokered initiative which led to an amicable agreement among all parties to hold parliamentary elections next month.
The Yemeni Prime Minister praised the GCC countries' efforts and underlined the UAE's "positive and proactive role" in the successful reconciliation endeavours.
He also expressed Yemen's gratitude to the UAE for continuous support to the Yemeni people and for contribution in the economic and social development projects there.
Shaikh Mohammed reaffirmed the UAE's stand to support Yemen's security and stability.
The meeting was attended by Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince Dubai; Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai; Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and President of the Emirates Airlines; Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Speaker of the Federal National Council; Shaikhs, senior officials and diplomats.
