(MENAFN - The Peninsula) As Tennis' foremost global warriors take to the battlefield for 2012's first ATP event, Aspetar Qatar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital is all set to provide its world-class expertise and services by offering a legion of medical services to the tournament.
The centre of sports-medicine excellence is the exclusive medical service provider of Qatar Tennis Federation (QTF)'s flagship event, Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2012, which runs from January 2 to 7 at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex.
In all, 32 participating players in the singles competition and 16 double teams will be able to receive Aspetar's proven world-class medical expertise including medical and physiotherapy treatments, throughout the competitions.
Aspetar's support of the tournament began in 2011 with a three-year-long contract with QTF, whereby the region's first specialised orthopaedic and sports medicine hospital agreed to provide industry-leading solutions and treatment to participating athletes and sportspersons.
"We are immensely proud of being part of a tournament of Qatar ExxonMobil's stature as an exclusive medical service provider. Like last year, our highly-qualified team of physiotherapists and medical staff are ready to ensure that players such as Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer perform optimally for a thrilling and exciting viewing," said Aspetar CEO Dr Khalifa Al Kuwari.
"Aspetar is committed to the well-being of sportspersons. We believe that only a medically fit athlete can put in superior performances. Our ideas and solutions enable entire communities reach their maximum potential in achieving a healthy and flourishing Qatari society," added Dr Al Kuwari.
Aspetar, along with Aspire Academy for Sports Excellence and Aspire Logistics, is one of the three strategic business units of the Aspire Zone Foundation, which is home to some of the world's finest sport stadia and venues offering a stimulating combination of sport, sports medicine and research, and sport education.
