(MENAFN Press) Al Fares 2010, the international equine trade fair, concluded yesterday (Wednesday 1st, December) with more than 4868 trade visitors from the equine industry visiting the show. Half of the exhibitors have shown keen interest to participate in the next edition that according to the organisers will be held in October 2012, prior to the kick off of the racing season.

Mr. Satish Khanna, General Manager, Al Fajer Information and Services added: The equine industry in the GCC was being felt again worldwide through Al Fares. Al Fares has witnessed the participation of international companies who reiterated their interest to be part of next editions show.

Al Fares 2010, which was held at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre, witnessed multi million Euros involving the 11 German exhibitors alone.

Adalbert von der Osten, Secretary General, Association of the German Sporting Goods Industry said: The German participation was very successful. Goods from Germany to UAE reached 6.1 billion Euros in 2009 compared with only 5.83 billion Euros in 2007, a clear example on the growing strong commercial ties between the two countries. We had multi-million Euro deals during the three days of the show.

According to der Osten, the German companies participating in the show led to building trust with local customers. He said that Arab region is major consumer of German equine products and German companies have local partners in the UAE to serve these customers.

Der Osten expressed his admiration to Arabian horses, saying that these horses are being largely bred in Europe and they have special characteristics that made them in high demand in Europe.

Anita Schiefegger, Head of Business, Belmondo, a leading Austrian Equine company said: The exhibition is good.

We met lots of potential customers and we looked at the exhibition as a platform to find local agents for the region.

Al Fares Dubai 2010 has highlighted new products and services for horses and riders. The expo saw horse owners, trainers, chiefs of the equine industry, renowned jockeys, polo professionals and horse lovers from across the world converging on Dubai to participate in the fair.

Macro Kray, General Manager, Rower & Rub Equestrian Equipment said: We will announce a very significant deal just three weeks from now. The deal involves a turning key project for a local client. We are the worlds biggest company that provides a wide range of products including horse stalls, loose boxes, barns, horse walkers, doors, windows, rakes, circular arenas and show jumping fences.

Kray announced opening of a regional office in the UAE. He said he was happy about concluding this deal at Al Fares show 2010.

Rower & Rub, the largest provider with this wide range of products in the world, has provided Asia Games 2010 and Asia Games 2006 with equine equipments.

The Al Fares show saw an increase of 15 percent compared to the previous edition, with more than 200 companies from 25 countries taking part.

Al Fares remains the only exhibition recognized worldwide as a leading trade platform to do business and capitalize on the booming regional market for equestrian products. Among the major participants are global players in the equestrian trade market from Austria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, India, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland the US and the UK.
