(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Some 11 new influenza A(H1N1) cases have been confirmed by Algerian health authorities, taking the total number of the country's patients up to 133.
The new cases include six in Blida, a 28-year-old woman who has recently returned from Belgium and five men; a 35-year-old Algerian and four Chinese nationals respectively aged 34, 43, 46 and 47, the Algerian Ministry of Health said in a release.
All the cases had close contact with previously reported swine flu patients, the ministry said.
A 77-year-old man from the province of Chlef, who has lately arrived from Marseille, France, is among the reported cases as well as a woman aged 27, who has also recently returned to Algiers from Morocco.
Three cases have been confirmed in Beni Saf, province of Ain Temouchent, involving an 11-year-old boy and two girls aged 7, the ministry added.
The Algerian government is expected to receive the first batch of swine flu vaccines by December.
