The Minister of Water and Electricity, Eng. Abdullah Bin Abdul Rahman Al Hossein has signed a number of water and sewage contracts for implementation in various regions of the Kingdom. The details about these contracts and the contractors handling them are being published here for the information of the Survey's readers:
1. The contract for upgrading the water networks in Prince Abdul Rahman Township, Al Ka'aki District, Al Qayyam District and Al Sheyab connection in Al Hawiyah, in Taif has been given to Al Reda General Contracting Est. (P. O. Box 1880 Taif, Tel. 02/736 9515, Fax. 02/732 9129) for a sum of SR 8,031,775. The period of the contract is 18 months.
2. The contract for the construction of secondary purification units in Al Hufoof (phase 3) has been given to Eastern Projects & Building Works Co. for a sum of SR 43,500,734. The period of the contract is 36 months.
3. The contract for upgrading the studies and initial designs for water and sewage utilities in Dammam, Al Khobar and Dhahran has been given to Al Hejailan Consulting Engineers (P. O. Box 9175 Riyadh 11413, Tel. 476 1414, Fax. 476 7491) for a sum of SR 3,346,000. The period of the contract is 38 months.
4. The contract for the implementation of water networks in some districts in Dammam (phase 3) has been given to Al Mandeb Trading & Contracting Est. (P. O. Box 7865 Dammam 31472, Tel. 834 4064, Fax. 833 5024) for a sum of SR 3,773,799. The period of the contract is 36 months.
5. The contract for the supply of assorted automobile vehicles to the Directorate of Water in Madinah has been given to Ahmed Bamarouf Est. (P. O. Box 3728 Jeddah 21481, Tel. 636 4550 / 637 4000) for a sum of SR 960,000.
6. The contract for the sewage project in Wadi Al Dawaser Town has been given to Al Jaze'a Trading & Contracting Est. (P. O. Box 16793 Riyadh 11474, Tel. 457 7722 / 404 2985, Fax. 405 9325) for a sum of SR 48,021,844. The period of the contract is 1062 days.
7. The contract for the implementation of water projects of Group-2/7 in the Northern Border Region, including Senar Welainah, Bin Ayyash, Bin Shraim, Luqah, Al Jebhan, Geraiban, Al Hadaqah, Hadaqah Al Jundah, Hazm Al Jalameed and Qaisoomah Faihan, (a 39,500 meter long network) has been given to Al Mutrek Co. for Trading and Contracting for a sum of SR 43,995,000. The period of the contract is 20 months.
8. The contract for the implementation of main sewage lines in the northern and eastern parts of Riyadh City has been given to Infrastructure Development Co. Ltd. jointly with Nesma & Al Fadl Contracting Co. Ltd. (P. O. Box 1498 Al Khobar 31952, Tel. 897 1050, Fax. 864 3121 / 894 7825) for a sum of SR 79,999,983. The period of the contract is 36 Hegira months.
9. The contract for the implementation of sewage networks in Al Sa'adah and Al Faiha Districts and the remaining parts of Al Jazira and Al Naseem (East) districts has also been given to Infra-structure Development Co. Ltd. jointly with Nesma & Al Fadl Contracting Co. Ltd. for a sum of SR 79,999,224. The period of the contract is 36 Hegira months.
10. The contract for the supply of diesel engines for wells in Riyadh has been given to Mohammed Al Fadaghi & Co. for a sum of SR 925,000. The period of the contract is 5 months.
11. The contract for operation and maintenance of water and sewage networks in Al Qateef has been given to Al Khorayef Operation & Maintenance Co. Ltd. (P. O. Box 305 Riyadh 11411, Tel. 435 1479 / 435 1480, Fax. 435 7410) for a sum of SR 42,929,805. The period of the contract is 3 Gregorian years beginning from 7. 8. 2004.
12. The contract for operation and maintenance of sewage networks in villages of Al Ahsa has been given to Modern Gulf Trading & Construction Co. Ltd. (P. O. Box 53006 Riyadh 11583, Tel. 401 4587 / 403 5759, Fax. 404 2439) for a sum of SR 20,150,000. The period of the contract is 3 Gregorian years beginning from 31. 8. 2004.
13. The contract for operation and maintenance of sewage networks in Al Khafji has also been given to Modern Gulf Trading & Construction Co. Ltd. for a sum of SR 4,533,525. The period of the contract is 3 Gregorian years beginning from 20. 9. 2004.
14. The contract for upgrading drinking water networks in Madinah has been given to Al Marwan General Contracting Est. (P. O. Box 1440 Jeddah 21431, Tel. 672 1827, Fax. 670 0334) for a sum of SR 7,777,770. The period of the contract is 36 Hegira months.
15. The contract for repair, treatment and alteration works in water reservoirs in Madinah has been given to Essam Kabbani & Partners Co. for Construction and Maintenance (P. O. Box 16375 Jeddah 21464, Tel 673 3431 / 672 6417) for a sum of SR 999,580. The period of the contract is 6 Hegira months.
16. The contract for operation and maintenance of water and sewage networks in some towns and villages of Jizan Region has been given to Al Jaze'a Trading & Contracting Est. for a sum of SR 21,455,895. The period of the contract is 36 Hegira months.
17. The contract for the implementation of water network in Teema has been given to Al Traiss Co. (P. O. Box 10484 Riyadh 11433, Tel. 478 9881 / 478 0584, Fax. 479 3893) for a sum of SR 4,983,883. The period of the contract is 730 days.
