(MENAFN) Jordan's King recently launched the first phase of a nationwide housing project in the Mafraq Governorate, aimed at providing underprivileged families in the Kingdom, Jordan Times reported.
The first phase involves the construction of 600 housing units with an estimated cost of $7 million in all poor areas throughout the Kingdom except for Amman and Zarqa, which will benefit from other projects in the future.
The second phase of the project, which will provide housing for poor families in the Kingdom's other poverty pockets, is scheduled to start at the beginning of 2006.
