Ukraine, Russia sign number of joint documents 

(MENAFN - Emirates News Agency (WAM)) Presidents of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and Russia Dmitry Medvedev have signed a number of joint documents at a meeting held in Kyiv concerning European security issues; Transnistrian settlement and on the issues of security in the Black Sea region, according to UKRINFORM.

They have also approved a final protocol of the third meeting of the Ukraine-Russia Intergovernmental Commission.

In the presence of the two Presidents, Foreign Ministers of Ukraine and Russia signed an agreement between Russia and Ukraine on demarcation of the Russian-Ukrainian state land border.

Heads of National Space Agency of Ukraine and Roskosmos signed an Intergovernmental Agreement on cooperation in the sphere of use and development of the Russian Global Navigation Satellite System GLONASS.

The inter-ministerial agreement was also signed on priority measures for the development of scientific and educational cooperation in 2010-2012, as well as the cooperation agreement between state-run Ukreximbank and OJSC VTB Bank.

Medvedev expressed hope that Ukraine and Russia would soon sign agreements on cooperation in a number of other spheres, such as fuel and energy, including nuclear energy, as well as the space industry, shipbuilding, and aviation industry. At the same time, he stressed that cooperation between the two countries should be on a mutually beneficial basis.

Russian President also pointed out successful cooperation between Ukraine and Russia in the aviation industry, in particular, between Ukraine's Antonov Design Bureau and Russia's United Aircraft Corporation, including a joint mass production of An-140, An-148, An-124 and subsequently An-70.

As of trade between Ukraine and Russia, Medvedev said the long-term target for both countries is to rise the volume of trade between two states to 100 billion dollars
