(MENAFN - The Peninsula) Qatar and Thailand signed two agreements and two Memoranda of Understanding after talks between Premier and Foreign Minister H E Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al Thani and Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva here yesterday. The talks were also attended by the Deputy Premier and Minister of Energy and Industry H E Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah.

Thai Deputy Premier Korbsak Sabhavasu , Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya, and Deputy Commerce Minister Wiroon Techapaiboon and President of the Thailand Trade Authority, Kiat Sittheeamorn also participated in the talks.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed for the setting up of a joint higher committee for international cooperation between Qatar and Thailand and an agreement for the exchange of news between the Qatar News Agency (QNA) and the Thai Telecommunications Corp, as well as a memorandum between Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) and the Thai Trade Council.

Besides, an agreement between Qatar Petroleum International and the Thai Siam Cement Group ws also signed.
