(MENAFN - The Peninsula) It is now working with all stakeholders within Qatar to coordinate the planning and construction process, and is preparing to identify additional world-class partners needed to undertake this massive development.

Asked about the financing of the project, Al Saad said: "We have many options on which we are working. The project will be completed by 2026 and we will release information very soon about the budget and financing scheme."

On whether changes in the urban planning of Doha will be required to accommodate the railway network project, Al Saad pointed out that the company was working with all stakeholders in the state especially the planning authorities which are relevant to this project.

Also addressing the joint news conference, German Federal Minister of Transport, Peter Ramsauer said: "Your decision to develop Qatar's transport infrastructure in such an impressive way, you are investing into the future of your country." He added that Germany is observing with great interest Qatar's initiatives aimed at modernising and diversifying all areas of its economy and society.
