(MENAFN Press) As the platinum sponsor and official carrier for the 2nd Amman Stand-up Comedy Festival, Royal Jordanian Airlines (RJ) is reiterating its long-term support for the festival which will take place December 4th – 10th, 2009.

RJ's sponsorship emanates from its strong commitment to support national events and activities that promote tourism, and stimulate efforts to enhance talents of the Jordanian youth. This also helps in promoting the carrier's social responsibility by consecrating Jordan's position on the global tourism map, and highlighting the festival's universality.

With high annual rates of growth, Royal Jordanian continues to develop steadily as one of the world's fastest expanding air carriers, taking into account its keenness to sustain development and protect the environment. The national airlines is currently operating daily flights to over 56 destinations worldwide, extending its fleet of modern aircrafts.

It is worth mentioning that Royal Jordanian was the first Arab airline to join an airline alliance by joining oneworld Alliance in 2007, which offers a wide range of unique air travel options and benefits by bringing together ten of the world's biggest and best airlines.

The Amman Stand-Up Comedy Festival was held for the first time last year, from December 2 until December 6, 2008, constituting the first step of its kind in the Middle East and, indeed, the Arab world. The Festival attracted almost three thousand Jordanians and Arabs, all of whom interacted with and highly appreciated the many comic performances.

The 2nd Amman Stand-Up Comedy Festival in association with Orbit Showtime is also sponsored by:
