(MENAFN) The head of Tehran Province Commercial Organization said that Iran and Iraq signed $200 million worth of contracts during an Iraqi delegation's visit to Tehran, IRNA News Agency reported.
Seyyed Ali Mousavi said that contracts for exporting pistachio, cement, vegetable oil, iron, and some other items have been signed during the Iraqi delegation's visit to Tehran.
A commercial and trade delegation from Iraq visited Tehran from October 19 to 22. The Iraqi delegation consisted of 22 Iraqi companies working in the food industry, including confectionary and chocolates.
The Iraqi delegation held talks with Iranian officials and visited Iranian factories, and attended the international confectionary and drinks fair.
Iraq is one of the main markets for Iranian goods. Iran exported $2.26 billion worth of goods to Iraq during the previous Iranian calendar year (ended March 20, 2009).
