(MENAFN - Times of Oman) Chinese automobile maker BYD Company plans to sell 300 cars during the first year of its launch in the Sultanate of Oman, officials of its local marketing partner, Mohsin Haider Darwish (MHD) said here, while launching two BYD models, namely F3 and F6 in both manual and automatic transmission options.
Launched from a totally new facility in Azaiba, the cars would also be available through MHD Automotive showrooms in Sur, Sohar and Salalah. In order to spur sales, MHD plans to offer after-sales service at very competitive costs.
The two car models also carry a 2-year unlimited kilometres warranty with service intervals of 5,000 kilometres or six months, MHD said in a statement. The BYD brand was officially launched in the presence of Pan Weifang, China's Ambassador to the Sultanate, who termed it as a symbol of improving relations between China and Oman.
The Chinese ambassador was optimistic about the relations between the two nations and said the Chinese embassy was encouraging more sales of Chinese goods in the Sultanate.
He also harped on the increasing presence of Chinese products in most parts of the world but also pointed out the need for further improvements on areas such as quality, style and specifications.
