(MENAFN - Jordan Times) Prime Minister Nader Dahabi last week encouraged Slovakian businessmen to tap business opportunities in Jordan and underlined the importance of benefiting from their experiences in different fields.

The premier, who returned home on Saturday after a visit to Slovenia and Slovakia, held talks last week with high-ranking Slovenians and Slovak officials on means to advance bilateral relations, particularly economic ties.

He participated in business forums which were held in the two east European countries in order to increase trade and foster cooperation. He also attended the signing of cooperation agreements with both sides in the fields of business and investment.

Addressing participants taking part in the business forum held in Slovakia, the second leg of his tour, Dahabi invited Slovak businessmen to visit Jordan, saying: "I guarantee that if you visit Jordan as businessmen or as tourists, you will find that you are welcome at all times, whether you come on business or as tourists."

Dahabi highlighted the business opportunities and tourist and historical attractions in the Kingdom, underlining Pope Benedict XVI recent visit to Jordan, in particular.

The premier also emphasised the trade agreements that Jordan signed during the last 10 years with different countries to open new markets for its goods. He invited Slovakian businessmen to set up joint investments with Jordanian investors to tap these opportunities.

Noting that Jordan can learn a lot from the experiences of the two countries, Slovakia and Slovenia, Dahabi emphasised during the two forums that Jordan acts as a gateway to neighbouring countries, especially Iraq.

The premier was accompanied by Industry and Trade Minister Amer Hadidi, Transport Minister Sahel Majali and several other officials and representatives of the private sector during the visit.
