(MENAFN - Emarat Business Review) Memory Technology Middle East (MTC), an IT distribution company, has announced that it has achieved a 21 per cent growth in the Middle East during the first quarter of 2009 compared to the same period last year. The impressive growth rate drew strength from the excellent performance of MTC's Xtreme and GENX brands, which secured considerable market gains in the Middle East particularly in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, UAE, Iraq and Kuwait.

MTC revealed that its Xtreme product line consolidated its share of the memory cards market after MTC launched five new Bluetooth-enabled devices, which greatly influenced the Xtreme brand's strong 60 per cent growth performance in the first quarter. One of the products launched under the Xtreme portfolio was the MBSH-C3.2, Xtreme's Bluetooth stereo headset that provides crystal clear audio reception and is compatible with any internet messaging and audio streaming device.

The GENX portfolio likewise gained solid ground and recorded a 17 per cent growth with the launch of GDV-FHD Pro, the newest model of the expanded line of GENX digital video camera series. The new high-definition digital movie camera addressed popular consumer demand for a new video camera with more powerful professional functionalities and excellent value for money. The GENX product line also boosted its share of the USB flash drive market as well as the MP4 player and digital photo frame categories.

Shabu Sultan, General Manager, MTC said, "Product innovation is definitely one of the primary reasons why MTC continues to enjoy a strong market performance across all its product lines. Consumers appreciate MTC's distinct ability to regularly deliver fresh offerings and innovations that combine both quality performance and cost-efficiency. We believe that there remains so much more potential in the Middle East market, particularly in several interesting product categories. MTC has therefore prepared a fine selection of new products to be launched as part of our ongoing market expansion initiative in the region."

Established in 1999 by MTC, GENX has emerged as a leader in providing innovative IT technologies to markets in North Africa, Egypt, Levant and the GCC. The company has established management hubs in Dubai, Jeddah, Riyadh and Yemen, and distributes its products and services to a network of dealers and retailers.
