Advanced IP VPN Solution Links International Offices through Qatar Hub; Qtel Provides Free Installation and Setup for Companies in February
Qtel took another step forward in its bold plan to become one of the world’s leading telecommunication companies, launching a new Global Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network (IP VPN) service for local, regional and international businesses.
IP VPN technology creates a secure, scalable and flexible network that companies can use to share real time, video and data applications between different offices around the world. Qtel’s new service will connect customer sites with a single link, supported by its network of tier-one partners around the world, to provide an equally high level of service to companies sitting in world business hubs or offices in hard-to-reach markets.
To encourage more Qatar-based businesses to take advantage of this new generation of communication solutions, Qtel is waiving all setup costs for the Global IPVPN solution for the first six weeks of its availability.
The solution, developed by Qtel Business Solutions (QBS), is designed to be one of the most competitive in the region, based on Qtel’s alliance with international specialists Reliance Globalcom, SingTel and Tawasul Telecom to provide an interconnected solution to connect businesses in over 200 countries.
Eng. Khalid Abdulla Al-Mansouri, Executive Director of Business Solutions, Qtel, said: “This is a very robust solution, which we believe compares favourably with the best in the world in terms of coverage, reach, security and flexibility. More and more Qatari companies are extending their operations around the world and this state of art solution provides them with the technological framework to enable that global growth.”
“At the same time, we’re in discussion with many international businesses that are attracted to Qtel’s combination of excellent value and unmatched reach around the world, including territories that have previously been difficult to connect with IP VPN service,” he added.
Qtel’s partnership with Reliance Globalcom offers fully managed global IP VPN services to 123 countries with the flexibility and scalability to manage higher volume of voice, video and data applications.
Reliance Globalcom also owns the worlds largest private undersea cable system spanning 65,000 kms providing a robust Global Service Delivery Platform connecting key business markets in India, the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and the U.S.
Qtel’s partnership with SingTel provides IP VPN connection into key business markets including countries in Asia, USA and Europe.
This international network is matched with a local network within the Middle East region that delivers unmatched depth and quality of service, in partnership with Tawasul Telecom, which provides premium network technology services across the GCC.
The end result of this international interconnectivity is a service that provides a reliable and dependable service delivered through an end-to-end managed solution. Global IPVPN is a pure-MPLS based solution, providing customers with an access port and a range of services, shaped around the specific applications used by their company.
“We’re very confident that this solution provides a unique mix of regional IP VPN coverage supported by global access. Our fully-developed network will enable us to provide real value to our customers, as demonstrated by this initial launch offer of free setup and installation for our business customers,” Eng. Khalid added.
Qtel’s new service is the first major customer solution launch supported through its pioneering partnership with Reliance Globalcom, announced in December 2008.
The company’s international expansion – which has seen Qtel extend its operation into 17 countries – has been supported by the parallel development of a network of partners who are leaders in their respective fields, enabling Qtel to offer world-class communication services.
About Qtel Qatar Telecom (Qtel) is the telecommunications service provider licensed by the Supreme Council of Information and Communication Technology (ictQATAR) to provide both fixed and mobile telecommunications services in the state of Qatar. We have a presence in 17 countries and we are committed to expansion both in the MENA region and South East Asia.
