Saudi Arabia- Shoura to take up water issue

(MENAFN - Arab News) The Shoura Council will focus on issues related to the supply of water at its meeting tomorrow.
The meeting, which will be presided over by Shoura Council Chairman Saleh Bin-Humaid, will also be addressed by Water and Electricity Minister Abdullah Al-Hussein who will speak about water safety plans in the Kingdom, Al-Watan Arabic daily reported.
Al-Hussein will also discuss with Shoura members what progress his ministry has made in implementing the policy of privatizing the water sector.
The other two topics that the council is scheduled to discuss include the annual reports on the activities of the Real Estate Development Fund and the General Organization for Retirement.
In its second meeting on Monday, the council will discuss a subcommittee report on the Kingdom's accession to the international agreement on oil pollution. The council will also discuss ways to improve the condition of petrol stations and rest houses on the Kingdom's highways.
In another development, Ali Al-Nafie, a Saudi citizen, appealed to the chairman of the Shoura Council to take immediate steps to enforce a standing government order that Saudi youths be preferred for jobs at commercial establishments and shopping centers.
