(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) The Governor of Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC)Dr. Omar bin Sulaiman on Thursday received the Board of Credit Suisse at his office in Dubai and discussed various ways in which both parties can work together to address and map out the current global financial markets crisis.

"Credit Suisse has been a prominent part of the financial services community in DIFC for the last three years. The meeting served to further strengthen our relationship with the organisation, which is one of the most respected names in the global financial industry," said Dr. Sulaiman.

Credit Suisse started operations in DIFC after it was awarded a licence by the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) to operate as a bank in April 2005.

As one of the world's leading banks, Credit Suisse provides its clients with private banking, investment banking and asset management services worldwide. Credit Suisse offers advisory services, comprehensive solutions and innovative products to companies, institutional clients and high-net-worth private clients globally, as well as retail clients in Switzerland.

Credit Suisse is very committed to the Middle East and has been involved in the region for four decades. It was one of the first foreign banks to establish operations in the area and today has offices in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Riyadh, Beirut, Cairo, and Manama. Most currently, the bank's joint venture in Saudi Arabia has been renamed Credit Suisse Saudi Arabia.
