(MENAFN - Saudi Press Agency) The Al-Qurayyah Sea Water Plant (QSWP) Expansion Project is forging ahead with a team of Saudi Aramco engineers working closely with contractor personnel in Italy.

"We are proud to have a 100-percent Saudi task force leading the engineering, procurement and construction to complete the project on schedule, meeting the highest quality standards," said project manager Amin F. Ghazzawi.
Foundations are formed for the infrastructure that is expanding the Qurayyah Seawater Plant.
With the project's completion, the plant will have a treatment capacity of 14 million bpd, making QSWP the world's largest seawater treatment plant intended for oil recovery, according to a report carried by Saudi Aramco web-site.
The expanded plant will include nine treatment modules, sedimentation basins and head shipping pumps and the extension of an above-grade canal. The plant's refitting includes a whole new electrical system and the upgrade by Saudi Electric Co. of the 230 kv incoming power supply.
The team leading the engineering, procurement and construction of the project is 100 percent Saudi.

"A clear vision, backed by definite plans, is paving the way for the project's success," said senior operations representative Salah S. Al-Sowayigh. "We can confidently say that the QSWP expansion program will achieve its objective through the excellent teamwork, coordination, discipline and effectiveness of its Saudi task force."
