The visiting Chairman of Moroccan Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services, Dr Shafiq Rashadi, said that Morocco could be used as Alba's gateway to market aluminium in Europe and Africa regions.

Dr Rashadi, who is also member Moroccan Parliament held talks with the CEO of Alba Ahmed Saleh Al Noaimi, and said that Morocco could become the Alba gateway to the European and African markets. He said, Alba's raw materials can also be imported from Morocco.

"The Kingdom of Morocco considers aluminium as a major material in the construction of many projects," said Dr Rashadi. "This makes aluminium critically important for the construction industry - and, we believe, Alba is capable of meeting the needs of the Moroccan market," he said.

Dr Rashadi made his comments following a visit to the Alba plant. The visit was a part of the Moroccan delegation's visit to the Kingdom to enhance diplomatic and political relations between the two countries by further developing commercial cooperation and discussing possibilities for boosting communication to support the national economy for the two countries through its commercial and industrial sectors.

The Moroccan delegation lauded the level of services and production capacity of Alba and discussed how enhance cooperation with Alba, especially that the industrial sector in the Moroccan market has diverse industries that can provide the important material required for the aluminium industry. Also, Morocco can open the gates for Alba to import to European and African markets with the least cost.

Al Noaimi said: "I invite all officials and businessmen of the industrial and commercial sectors in Morocco to have more cooperation towards the interest of both countries on many levels, especially that Alba today is one of the main suppliers in the international aluminium market."

He added: "Bahrain has long and well-established relationships with Morocco over the years, which could be enhanced even more through their commercial and industrial cooperation through Alba, as the one the main contributors to the Bahraini national economy, and commercial and industrial in the Moroccan market."
