Elsevier “ the world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services “ announced the scientific program of its highly anticipated 2nd Middle East Vaccine Congress, which will be held from 14th-15th December, 2012, at the Rotana Beach Hotel & Resort in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Organized in partnership with global communications and event management company MCI, the two-day event is expected to secure wide-spread regional participation, bringing together vaccine experts from the healthcare industry, academia and government.

Set to tackle key issues related to vaccine research, manufacturing, policy, safety and regulation, the 2nd Middle East Vaccine Congress's plenary sessions will delve into topics that encompass vaccine safety, breakthroughs as well as future challenges. Speakers will include senior vaccine professionals, researchers and policy-makers from Germany, Italy, the UK, the UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Oman, Lebanon, Jordan and Egypt.

Amongst the event's featured keynotes are: Ms. Houda Langar,Regional Adviser of the Essential Vaccines and Biologicals Policy (VAC Unit) at the World Health Organization - Egypt; Ms. Farida Al Hosani, Manager of the Communicable Diseases Department at the Health Authority Abu Dhabi (HAAD); Mr. Ziad Memish,Deputy Minister for Public Health and a Professor at the College of Medicine at KSA's Alfaisal University; Mr. Fred Zepp,Medical Director & Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at Germany's Johannes Gutenberg University; Mr. Muhieddine Seoud, Vice Chairman ofand a Professor atthe Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the American University of Beirut (AUB); and Mr. Ray Spier, Emeritus Professor of Science and Engineering Ethics atthe UK's University of Surrey, among others.
