(MENAFN Press) Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) announced today that the latest edition of its Emarati Programme has begun with the first batch of 20 female UAE Nationals taking part in the six-month long customised training course to enhance their skills and knowledge of the banking industry.
The announcement follows the signing earlier this year of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between DIB and the Private Office of Sheikh Majid Bin Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum to train 40 Emaratis formalising DIB's support of the "Majid bin Mohammed UAE Nationals Training Initiative" to train Emarati graduates to work in the UAE banking industry
Established in 2004, the Emarati programme begins with theoretical training at DIB's Learning and Development Centre covering the principles of Islamic finance, Sharia compliant products, bank policies and procedures and customer service. This year's participants will then move on to four months of practical training in various departments of the bank, with a particular focus on close coaching and mentoring. Upon the successful completion of the course, graduates will be offered full time positions at the bank. The Programme is a key component of DIB's long-term strategy to meet its ambitious Emiratisation targets.
"Emarati women have proven their capability in all sectors of the UAE economy, including government, banking, media and industry," said Obaid Al Shamsi, Chief of Human Resources, DIB. "DIB is extremely proud to be a strategic partner of the 'Majid bin Mohammed UAE Nationals Training Initiative.' Together, we are working to equip highly talented Emaratis with the theoretical skills and practical training needed to excel in the fast-growing Islamic finance industry."
"In addition to elevating the careers of hundreds of course participants over the past decade and increasing the number of Emaratis qualified to work in the country's banking industry, the Emarati Programme also strives to make a meaningful difference to the local community," added Al Shamsi.
Under the terms of the MoU between the two organisations, DIB has committed to train a further 20 UAE nationals as part of the "Majid bin Mohammed UAE Nationals Training Initiative."
