(MENAFN Press) As part of Tamkeen's ongoing efforts to develop human capital and match skills to local labour market requirements, 65 young Bahrainis graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland - Medical University of Bahrain as part of Tamkeen's Health Assistant Training and Employment Programme.

this leading programme provides training for secondary school graduates wishing to enter the healthcare sector at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and offers them employment opportunities at King Hamad University Hospital.

The graduates represented the second and third batches of the total 117 Bahrainis targeted by the programme at a total cost of BD114,000. Through the programme, Tamkeen helps meet the need for local employees in the healthcare sector in general and at King Hamad University Hospital in particular by providing internationally recognised training for Bahraini citizens.

Tamkeen's Senior Manager for Human Capital Development, Mrs. Amal Al Kooheji, expressed gratitude to all parties involved in this significant initiative, which creates sustainable job opportunities and improves the quality of healthcare services. "Tamkeen is committed to making Bahrainis the employees of choice and closing the skills gap in the labour market," she said.

"Today, there is a marked growth in the healthcare sector, especially after the opening of the King Hamad University Hospital. We are confident that our training programmes will cover the needs with qualified local cadres at the highest international levels."

The graduates expressed satisfaction with this leading programme, which enabled them to fulfill their ambitions and join the expanding healthcare sector.

Graduate Huda Al-Ansari thanked the entire working team responsible for this program and said the training on basic healthcare skills was extremely useful. "Now I have the incentive to continue my career in the healthcare sector and take up nursing in the future," she said.

Graduate Fathiya Al Hamadi said: "We thank Tamkeen for its support and King Hamad University Hospital for organising this excellent trainingprogramme, which provided me with sufficient knowledge to join the healthcare services sectors.

I hope many students will benefit from the opportunities that Tamkeen offers to develop their skills and realise their ambitions."

The Health Assistant Training and Employment Programme is one of more than 100 programmes that Tamkeen offers to enable the development of Bahrainis and businesses in the Kingdom.

To date, around 23,500 Bahrainis have benefited from Tamkeen's Human Capital Development programmes, and more than 2,200 graduates from these programmes have been employed in several sectors.
