(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) The Directorate General of Muscat Municipality in Seeb has said that developmental projects which will give the wilayat a new look are well underway.
This includes the 3km long Seeb waterfront project and two beautification projects in South Mabela Industrial Area.
A senior official at Muscat Municipality said that 60km of roads have already been constructed and street lights have been put up on another 50km of roads in the wilayat.
''Work on the fish market project at Al Fulaij and the waterfront project have already started. The first stage of the Seeb project will provide entertainment and sports facilities and establish markets, restaurants, coffee shops and rest houses.
"The project is set to promote the area as an entertainment destination for both residents and visitors.
''There will be souqs, cafs, walkways, picnic spaces, children's playgrounds, a fishing harbour and a park. Contemporary architecture will be combined with historical Omani design.''
As part of the project, pedestrian sidewalks will be built on Ras al Hail street (6km), A'Saad street (5km), Al Taimeer street (8km), Al Huda street (7km), the street adjacent to A'Sayyeda Mayzoon Mousuq (4km) and Dama street (4km).
The municipality has built parking lots for trucks in South Mabella and erected warning signs which prohibit their parking in certain places.
The municipality is also building a bridge at Al Fursan Street Junction and another one at Sea Street in North Al Hail and is launching an intensive cleaning campaign in all the areas.
