(MENAFN - Arab News) Dr. Sulaiman Al-Habib Medical Group (HMG) has started operation of its modern hospital on Takhassusi Road in Riyadh, providing advanced health services to patients.

Dr. Abdullah bin Hussein Al-Harbash, executive vice president, said the 255-bed hospital had 135 specialized clinics.

"We intend to recruit highly qualified medical staff, especially doctors who are members of the American and Canadian medical boards and European medical associations as well as those who have long-term working experience in reputable international hospitals and medical centers," Al-Harbash told Arab News.

He said the hospital had 103 consultants with different specializations and 136 specialists who are supported by experienced nurses and paramedical staff.

"Our hospital gives utmost importance to the emergency section, where we have allocated 42 beds to treat various emergency and accident cases," Al-Harbash said, adding that there is a special room for emergency delivery.

The emergency section in all departments will operate around the clock, especially those in cardiology, maternity, pediatrics and accident sections, he said. "Our hospital has an advanced cardiology center, which is equipped with Inova technology," he said. Inova surgical techniques are used to repair and replace all heart valves: aortic, mitral, tricuspid and pulmonary.

He said the cardiology center had 22 intensive care units and two operation rooms.

Dr. Suleiman Al-Majed, deputy CEO for medical facilities, said the group had tried to acquire the latest medical technology at all clinics of the hospital to provide optimum diagnosis and treatment services to patients.

"We have acquired PET CT scan to diagnose and treat cancer and heart and neurological diseases," he added.

Dr. Sulaiman Al-Habib Medical Group is one of the largest providers of comprehensive health-care services in the Middle East. It currently operates nine medical facilities, including seven hospitals and three medical centers, across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

It has three hospitals in the Riyadh region and one in Qassim. It has plans to establish two medical cities in Riyadh and Dammam.

"HMG is committed to bringing the most advanced medical technology available and attracting highly qualified and distinguished medical professionals," said Al-Majed. "All our medical facilities are operated according to the highest international standards.

"Our hospitals are JCIA & ISO accredited, and we have also been honored by receiving the Arab Health Award 2011 for Best Radiology Department in the Middle East and The Arab Health Award 2012 for Excellence in Human Resource Development," Al-Majed said, adding that these honors reflected the group's focus on quality services.
