(MENAFN Press) Al Qasba, Sharjah's premier tourist, leisure and cultural destination, will host the world famous Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at Masrah Al Qasba - Theatre on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th of July, as part of its Summer Fun Weekends program.
Written by the British author Roald Dahl, which was first published in 1964, the story revolves around a poor boy who wins a tour of a chocolate factory. In this show Mr. Wonka “ the factory owner in the play “ and his friends will need the audience's help to stop the evil Bastinda from taking over the factory, and stopping everyone in the world from ever enjoying the taste of sweets and chocolates again.
Speaking on the occasion, Khulood Al Junaibi, Events Manager at Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) said, "We are delighted to host this universal show, which is highly popular among children all over the world. We expect that the show will attract huge numbers of families from all over the UAE."
It will be the third and last theatrical show of the family and children oriented Summer Fun Weekends program, which aimed to offer new and diverse entertainment destinations in Sharjah during the summer holiday.
The show will be performed twice daily at Masrah Al Qasba- Theatre during this weekend, with the English language show at 6:00 p.m. and the Arabic show at 8:00 p.m. Al Qasba will also be witnessing a mesmerizing fireworks show on Friday at 10:00 p.m.
Al Qasba started its Summer Fun Weekend activities on the 29th and 30th June with a family show titled 'Pirates of Arabia Adventures', while on the 6th and 7th of July, Al Qasba organised a captivating show that was full of magic and illusion with the Argentinian illusionist Gaston Quieto.
