(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) Media coverage on Dubai last year concentrated mainly on the government angle and economic development, a report on the system of managing communication between government entities for the Dubai strategic plan 2015 said.
The General Network for Government Communication of the Dubai Government reviewed the results of the report in a meeting held recently.
The report tackles a detailed analysis on the media coverage concerning the emirate in 2011, by news agencies locally, regionally and globally. The report is based on the news media monitor that focused on the emirate during the period, citing 70 sources of traditional and fresh news media across the world, in order to feed the Dubai Government communication system.
The most outstanding results the report showed were that media, in general, concentrates on the angle of government and economic development. However, the Arab media focuses on the infrastructure and environment angle while the foreign media keeps a close eye on the government and economic development.
The report demonstrated that on the economic development angle, Dubai is maintaining its competitiveness, while on the social development, the results highlighted that Dubai has full-fledged health services and works on improving the health system for its residents. On the security and justice angle, Dubai has an efficient security system that secures and prevails tranquility among the society members. On the infrastructure and environment area, Dubai has an integrated transportation scheme which ensures a traffic flow and provides its residents with a highest level of safety.
Lastly, the report showed that Dubai is working on refurbishing its governmental services and raising its competence.
