Libya's oil output to grow to 1.6m bpd in June 

(MENAFN) Libya's head of crude marketing for the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Ahmed Shawki, stated that by the end of June, the country's oil output will grow to 1.6 million barrels per day (bpd), reported The National.

Shawki said that the figure, which represents the amount the country produced before the start of the war, is forecasted to rise to 3 million bpd, the quantity Libya produced almost 40 years ago.

He added that as a result of bad management, little investment, no re-exploration, sanctions in the 1980s, and then the Lockerbie crisis, the environment in the country became unstable and no investments were made in the oil sector.

It is worth noting that the Libyan civil war, which lasted for 8 months, destroyed the country's export terminals.
