(MENAFN - Qatar News Agency) Businessmen from Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, will visit the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo on the 28th and 29th of May to participate in business roundtables with Brazilian importers.

The business roundtables with Brazilian importers may take place at the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, to host the meetings and promote the event, together with the Dubai Export Development Corporation (DEDC), an organization that fosters exports from the emirate, the (Brazil-Arab) news agency reported.

According to the CEO at the Arab Brazilian Chamber Michel Alaby, the DEDC usually promotes visits to Brazil and generally asks for Arab Brazilian Chamber assistance for organization of the roundtables.

According to the executive, the Arab companies are coming with the objective of exporting, but that does not mean that they are not open to doing business in general, and even importing.

The companies in the delegation, however, are coming to Brazil aiming most at selling equipment for fire control, electronic products and equipment and products for hotels. There will also be representatives in the building and air transport area, whose aim is to speak to businessmen in the building sector, engineers, architects and people connected to the area.

In the first quarter of this year, the Arab country exported to Brazil the equivalent to US 121 million in products like aircraft fuel, sulphur and glass. Brazilian industry, in turn, shipped to the United Arab Emirates products like ores, meats, dairy, eggs and fruit. The total exported resulted in US 611 million for Brazil. That is, Brazil had a trade surplus of US 490 million in trade with the country.

The delegation from Dubai should be led by the CEO at DEDC, Saed Al Awadi, who will meet with authorities in the city of Sao Paulo. In the first day of roundtables, there will be a panel about the economy and foreign trade of Brazil, turned to the members of the DEDC delegation. After visiting Brazil, the group will travel to Argentina.
