(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) The Sharjah Police are investigating into the case in which an eight-year-old child got seriously injured after a heavy metal door fell on him while in school.
The Arab boy, identified as A.M.N., is currently being treated at the ICU of a private hospital. His head and parts of the body have been injured.
The police said that the operations room received a call from the management of a private school in Sharjah about the incident. Police investigation officers, Anjad and an ambulance rushed to the school and shifted the injured boy to Al Kuwaiti Hospital. His family later transferred him to a private hospital.
During investigation, the police found that the door which weighed about 120kg fell on him while he was playing hide-and-seek with his friends during break.
The police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident and ensure whether the school was negligent. Medical sources at the hospital said the boy received injuries in the skull and other parts of his body. He is under observation and his condition will be known only after a few days. A top official said that the school would be punished if found negligent.
