(MENAFN) Sharjah Investment and Development Authority's (Shurooq) CEO, Marwan bin Jassim Al Sarkal, stated that starting this month, the emirate will begin the construction of a huge eco-tourism project in the city of Kalba, reported Emirates 24/7.
Al Sarkal added that the authority plans to raise over USD272 million in private investments for the project, whereas the rest will be financed by the government.
Moreover, the project, which is expected to complete in nearly 6 years, will create 5,000 new jobs for both nationals and foreigners.
He also said that the project will include natural reserves, in addition to various tourist and commercial facilities.
It is worth noting that the government will invest in the establishment of the discovery centre, which is part of the first phase of development that includes the release of the animals in the protected areas.
