(MENAFN - Arab News) The five-day scientific conference, which opened in Alkhobar on Monday, focuses on humanities and social sciences, basic and engineering sciences, and health sciences.
Deputy Minister for Educational Affairs Mohammad A. Al-Ohali said the scientific conference for higher education students enjoys the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah. "It tends to compete with similar conferences worldwide with respect to both the quality and quantity of the works presented," he said.
"Through these scientific conferences we aim to foster a scientific research culture among students. We hope to provide students with communication, discussion and leadership skills, to encourage the scientific competitiveness among students and raise the scientific and cultural level of students in Saudi universities," said Al-Ohali.
"The achievements of the previous two conferences encouraged us to organize a third one. Partaking Saudi and non-Saudi students come from 41 universities and colleges, both public and private," said Al-Ohali.
"The conference aims for higher education students in Saudi Arabia to take part in the Kingdom's scientific developments through the use of their knowledge in research projects and innovative endeavors in various fields of specialization and to provide these students with a set of academic and personal skills," Al-Ohali added.
