(MENAFN - Arab News) Saudi stocks hovered in small gains and losses on Monday, as the Tadawul index with a positive change of 2.7 points remained almost flat.
The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) dived in the south earlier yesterday, reflecting a w-shape curve crossed the breakeven line to close in the green at 7,558.47 points, which was roughly where it started the day.
Sectoral performance was mixed, as the losses made by the Insurance (-1.19 percent) and Media (-0.86 percent) being offset by rise in Telecommunication & IT (1.27 percent) and Cement (0.62 percent).
Only Etihad Etisalat Co. (Mobily) and Saudi Telecom among top ten market cap companies turned green, achieving 1.09 percent and 0.95 percent growth respectively.
On the other worst side, Samba Financial Group continued its downward fall, trimming 0.5 percent further to close at SR51.75.
Tadawul volume reached 414.1 million shares traded, a 4.2 percent increase over previous day's volume when 397.3 million shares changed hands.
Saudi Mobile Telecommunications Co. (Zain) with 66.4 million shares and Atheeb Telecom with a turnover of SR806.7 million became the most active stocks at Tadawul.
The market breadth was negative as out of 149 stocks traded Monday, 48 were up and 84 were down while 17 remained unchanged.
Atheeb Telecom and Knowledge Economic City (KEC) made the biggest jumps among all Saudi equities, surged up 9.8 percent for the day.
On the other hand, Saudi Arabian Cooperative Insurance became the biggest loser of the day, down by 4.32 percent to close at SR48.8.
